Climbing Kilimanjaro – Rongai route in 6 or 7 days
Your trip step by step

The Rongai route is the only route that starts on the north side of Kilimanjaro, near the Kenyan border. This route allows to have the view on both sides of Kilimanjaro, Kenyan side and Tanzanian side.
The Rongai route is less frequently visited by hikers, so it is recommended for those who wish to do a more solitary hike. This route is also the only one that passes through Mawenzi Camp, one of the three peaks of Kilimanjaro.
We offer private ascents, meaning that you will be alone with your guide and porters. This will allow you to walk at your own pace without having to worry about other people.
In the program below, the nights before and after the climb are not included. Ideally, you should add 2 nights before the start of the climb in order to recover from the trip and to allow your body to have a first acclimatization.
Once the climb is complete, where you spend the night will depend on the rest of your program. Do you want to continue with a safari or on Zanzibar? Or will you go back home? Let us know what you would like to do so that we can suggest the most suitable itinerary for you.
