The Lemosho route has the highest success rate! Trust The Smiling Zebra to take you to the top of Africa’s highest mountain.
The Lemosho route has the highest success rate, because it allows a very good acclimatization throughout the ascension. Its advantage? It offers the choice to have several different starting points, depending on the number of days you choose and your preferences. Of course, The Smiling Zebra is there to advise you. On the second half of the trek, the Lemosho route joins the Machame route.
We offer private ascents, meaning that you will be alone with your guide and porters. This will allow you to walk at your own pace without having to worry about other people.
In the program below, the nights before and after the climb are not included. Ideally, you should add 2 nights before the start of the climb in order to recover from the trip and to allow your body to have a first acclimatization.
Once the climb is complete, where you spend the night will depend on the rest of your program. Do you want to continue with a safari or on Zanzibar? Or will you go back home? Let us know what you would like to do so that we can suggest the most suitable itinerary for you.
Day 1 : Drop-off at high altitude with the jeep (3500m) – Shira 2 Camp (3900m)
Day 2: Shira 2 Camp (3900m) – Barranco Camp (3960m) via Lava Tower (4630m)
Day 3 : Barranco Camp (3960m) – Karanga Camp (4035m)
Day 4: Karanga Camp (4035m) – Barafu Camp (4640m)
Day 5: Barafu Camp (4640m) – Uhuru Peak (5895m) – Millenium Camp (3820m)
Day 6: Millenium Camp (3820m) – Mweka Gate (1640m)
On the 7 days climb, you will spend your first night at Shira 1 Camp, before moving on to Shira 2 Camp the next day.
On the 8 days tour you will start your ascent at Londorossi Gate (2200m), so you will have the chance to cross the famous Kilimanjaro rainforest.
