Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park is a jewel of diverse ecosystems and spectacular views of Mount Meru.
It is a popular destination for day visitors who are about to embark from Arusha town on longer safaris of the northern circuit. This small national park includes the slopes, summit and cinder cone of Mount Meru, Momela Lakes, Ngurdoto Crater and the lush highland forests that cover its lower slopes. Game viewing around Momela Lakes is at a relaxed and leisurely pace, and as you pass through the forest, many visitors stop to watch troops of rare colobus monkeys playing in the canopy.
In Arusha National Park, it is possible to go on a walking safari, accompanied by an armed ranger. This activity, which lasts about 1.5 hours, allows you to walk through ancient fig forests, see crystal clear water cascading from mountain streams and, with a little luck, spot colobus monkeys.
